The IDX Broker MCP is a connection that lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT work with your own IDX Broker account. This page is the overview of what it connects to, who can use it, and where each part is documented. It is a guide from IDX Webmasters, the Virtual Results IDX division. It is not endorsed by IDX Broker.
Access state: self-serve sign-up for the IDX Broker MCP is open, and you need your own IDX Broker account. Sign up to get started.
What it connects to
The IDX Broker MCP acts on one IDX Broker account: the key connected for your signed-in organization. There is no site argument: it is designed to act only on that one account. It has 100+ tools in 27 families. Answers are mostly links, counts, embed codes and record details from your own account.
It does not require WordPress, and it does not require a Virtual Results website. The tools only talk to IDX Broker. See the examples guide for each setup.
How sign-in and access work
- Sign-in uses a Virtual Results login, the same one used for other Virtual Results tools.
- Access is granted per organization by Virtual Results. A signed-in organization without access sees a page saying the account is not set up for the IDX Broker MCP yet.
- Connecting, testing, replacing or removing your IDX Broker key is limited to organization admins. Ordinary tool use needs an active organization membership.
- Your IDX Broker key is stored encrypted, for your organization only.
What you need
- An IDX Broker account and its access key. See the connect guide.
- A Virtual Results login for an organization that has been granted access.
- An AI assistant that supports MCP connectors, such as Claude or ChatGPT. Virtual Results sets up the connection with you. We do not claim it works with every AI client, and which assistant plans allow custom connectors is not covered here.
- Optional: IDX Broker's Social Pro add-on for the Social Pro tools. MLS-wide listing search is limited to accounts under Virtual Results' IDX partnership. Sold data needs MLS approval for sold data.

Safety in one paragraph
Reads happen immediately. Creating a new record is a single step that is read back to verify. The 32 tools that change or delete something existing ask you to confirm twice before they run. Deleting in IDX Broker has no undo. The full list and the data boundary are in the safety and data guide.
